Neopolitan native Vincenzo Marra continues his filmmaking exploration of his home City's, character, culture and psychology. This time Marra looks at Naples and its people through the prism of a revealing vérité documentary set inside a Prison (whose inhabitants are divided by the different Nepolitan neighbourhoods and the respective Camorra clans they belong to). Focusing on Raffaele a long term prisoner and rising Camorra star, destined to become a "Boss" on release, Marra shows the intimate and minute details of his routine life whilst also reflecting the increasingly close relationship he forms with his gaoler Inspector Niko. So The Triplet is both a slice of carefully observed penal reality and a compelling psychological drama. (Adrian Wootton)
