The Danish-Italian filmmaker Eugenio Barba will be Venice Days' special guest at the conference Best Practices: Cinema and Theater 2, Cross-Media Blends. The conference has been jointly arranged by Venice Days and the Associazione Culturale Ateatro.
The event, curated by Angelo Curti, Marina Fabbri and Oliviero Ponte di Pino, is free and open to the public, a unique occasion to see artists and other film and stage professionals compare notes on their experiments with different genres and their own feelings about their art. It's a dialogue that is not just about swapping and analyzing information, but aims to foster the free exchange of creative ideas across the spectrum of the arts.
Participants will include producer Lionello Cerri; actors Eleonora Danco, Pippo Delbono, Enrico Ianniello and Luigi Lo Cascio; filmmakers Jacopo Quadri and Davide Barletti; and the theater troupe Motus, featuring Enrico Casagrande and Daniele Francesconi Nicolò.
In addition, the world premiere of Il paese dove gli alberi volano
will be held on the evening of Friday, September 11. The film by Jacopo Quadri and Davide Barletti was made in Holstebro for the 50th anniversary of Eugenio Barba's Odin Teatret.
